Versiti Beacon of Hope Recognition – Luann Lang

The Muskego Woman’s Club, a member of the Greater Federation of Woman Club’s (GFWC), “Muskego Community” Blood Drive and its chair, Luann Lang were honored at a Versiti/Blood Center of WI gala for its outstanding support of blood drives for more than four decades.  Versiti shared with the more than 200 in attendance the “Muskego Community” has hosted 114 blood drives, going back to 1981.  There have been 6,589 registered donors and 5,728 units collected.  With each donation representing 3 blood products (platelets, plasma, red cells), the “Muskego Community” Blood Drives have touched more than 15,000 local patients.  
 

What an accomplishment!  Luann Lang was presented the Crystal Beacon Award in the Community Blood Drive category based on the longevity of the program, number of donors per drive and the number of donations collected overall.  Versiti recognized our club member, and the “Muskego Community” drives because of the remarkable commitment to Versiti and for demonstrating the effort to meet and exceed the unit goal of EACH BLOOD DRIVE.  The “Muskego Community” drives are now the largest in the SE Wisconsin territory of Versiti!  “These drives demonstrate care for the community through ensuring a steady, safe and ample blood supply to local hospitals,” stated the gala emcee. We are proud to have Luann be a member of our club and an integral part of the Muskego community.
